Police said Ashten Lawrence, 20, got a woman a Taser for Christmas and told her “to use it if he ever went into a panic attack because he would become violent,” KUTV reported.

On Jan. 2, Lawrence started to have a panic attack. The woman, fearing for her safety, applied the electronic device to his neck. Lawrence became enraged and repeatedly hit her in the face. He then dragged her across the floor and put his hands over her mouth, restricting her breathing for at least five seconds, police said.

Lawrence was arrested and charged with assault and aggravated assault, KUTV reported.

He asked the woman to use a taser on him during his panic attacks "because he would become violent," police reported.
