According to the Associated Press, the 1952 Mickey Mantle baseball card is estimated to be worth around $10 million and the bidding for it could go well over in a two-day auction that begins on August 27.

Mantle played for the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968 which was his entire career, according to the AP.

The highest a baseball card has ever gone for was $6.6 million for a 1909 Honus Wagner baseball card which was sold at an auction last year, said the AP.

The reason that Mantle’s card’s value is estimated to be so high is due to a few things - the quality of the card and how rare it is. Mantle also passed away in 1995.

The current owner of the Mantle baseball card paid $50,000 for it at a New York City show in 1991. Mantle was a triple crown winner in 1956, a 3-time American League MVP and a 7-time World Series champion, according to the AP. The previous owner told the AP that he believed it was time to find the card a new home.

The card will be displayed in Atlantic City Wednesday through Sunday at the National Sports Collectors Convention and the New York office of Heritage Auctions the week after, leading up to the auction, per the AP.
