Officials identify mother, 2 young children found dead in their New Hampshire house

NORTHFIELD, N.H. — Officials have identified the mother and her two young children who were found dead on Wednesday in their New Hampshire home.

According to WFXT, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office announced Thursday the name of a woman and her two young children who were found dead in their home.

In a news release, the AG’s office said that on Wednesday around 11:33 a.m., officers were called out to a home in Northfield, New Hampshire. When they arrived at the home, officers found the body of a woman and two young boys. The woman was identified as Kassandra Sweeney, 25. Her two sons were identified as Benjamin Sweeney, 4, and Mason Sweeney, 1.

The AG’s office said all three of them died from a single gunshot wound and their deaths have been ruled homicides.

According to WFXT, the AG’s office said in a news conference Friday, hat the murders were not random. They also said Benjamin and Mason’s father has been cooperating and is “devastated.”

The AG’s office said that investigators have identified “all involved parties,” and there is no threat to the public.

No arrests have been made in connection with the homicides, said WFXT. The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
