National City police told the Times of San Diego that two men went into the International Church of Praise shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday and confronted the 76-year-old victim at gunpoint. The men are accused of pistol-whipping the woman before ordering her to go outside and get into a car.

Police said the woman was forced into her own car, which was parked outside the church, KFMB reported.

The two men allegedly demanded the woman’s address, which she revealed. The attackers then drove the victim to her home in San Diego, but nobody got out of the car once they arrived, KSWB reported.

Police said the suspects then drove the woman back to National City, where she was left alone in the vehicle at a strip mall, according to KGTV.

When the attackers ran away, the victim walked into a nearby business and asked for help, police told the Times of San Diego. She was treated for minor facial injuries by paramedics.

The victim’s family told KGTV that she suffered severe bruising to her face.

Police have not offered any detailed descriptions of the suspects, and said they do not know the motivation behind the attack, the Times of San Diego reported.
