UGA women’s soccer team breaks NCAA record with Sanford Stadium match

Soccer in Sanford 2026 A record crowd of 25,433 saw No. 25 UGA defeat James Madison, 6-0, at Sanford Stadium on Thursday night. The attendance broke the record for a NCAA women’s or men’s soccer match.

What a fantastic night in Athens! I am so jealous I’m not currently a UGA student because it looked electric. The UGA women’s soccer team took on James Madison University in Sanford Stadium, and they broke the single match attendance record for both men’s and women’s soccer.

Many UGA student athletes were in attendance, and Georgia Coach Kirby Smart was also there and fired up about the match!
