Travis Kelce’s football era isn’t over!

The Kansas City tight end revealed the news to Pat McAfee, who read a text from Kelce on the Pat McAfee Show on Feb. 27.

“My dog!!! I’m coming back for sure,” McAfee read from his exchange with Kelce. “I’m gonna try and get in the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop.”

Kelce added, “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!”

After a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl on Feb. 9, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he was “not sure” if Kelce would return to the NFL for another season.

On Thursday, Mahomes broke his silence on Travis Kelce returning to the Chiefs with a message from ‘The Last Dance’ on X after Pat McAfee’s announcement.

Mahomes' message shows Michael Jordan’s security guard, John Michael Wozniak, giving his infamous shrug after one of the basketball legend’s signature performances, as first displayed in the beloved ESPN documentary.
