It looks like Jelly Roll’s success as a singer might help him clear his past.

As we all know, Jelly Roll spent time locked up in Nashville for drug charges and armed robbery, and as a result, he has to deal with everything that comes with being a convicted felon.

During the 2024 election, Jelly Roll wasn’t able to vote because of his felonies. He also shared that his criminal history causes problems when touring internationally and entering other countries.

Last year, Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall asked Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to grant Jelly Roll a full pardon. On Tuesday (April 22), he revealed that the recommendation was accepted by the full Board of Parole. Now, the only thing left to erase Jelly Roll’s criminal record is for Governor Lee to sign the pardon.

A big part of Jelly Roll’s redemption story and career now involves going back to prisons to perform for inmates and give them hope that their past does not have to define their future.

Jelly Roll just made his debut on the Jennifer Hudson Show, where he talked about his past and how it got him here today.
