If you read the headline and thought “wow... I haven’t heard of Chris Gaines in 20+ years...” you’d be right! Or maybe you haven’t EVER heard of Chris Gaines. But, if you know of Garth Brooks, you’re already half way there! Garth Brooks released music in the 90′s under an alter ego named Chris Gaines. It wasn’t country music either Chris Gaines was a pop/rock artist. In a Netflix documentary that came out in 2019, Garth Brooks said the reason Chris Gaines was created was for a movie called “The Lamb” that never actually got released. BUT even though the movie never saw the light of day, Garth has been teasing that we haven’t seen the last of Chris Gaines. In his Inside Studio G Facebook Live, that happened on Monday 3/15, Garth had a fan if the Chris Gaines album would ever be available in other ways than just on CD. Garth responded with “I can’t tell you anything except: You’re going to have it in every format you can possibly imagine. It’s coming, even on vinyl.” Then he added “you’re going to have Chris Gaines stuff nobody’s ever heard before, either... It’s all coming.”
Here’s a little look at “Chris Gaines” from back in the day...
