WARREN COUNTY, Ohio — A 3-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed by a neighbor Thursday morning in Warren County, WHIO-TV reported.
Authorities were called to a home in Deerfield Township on Thursday morning after a neighbor stabbed the boy with a ceramic knife, sheriff’s deputies said in a news release obtained by WHIO. The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injury, which officials said did not appear to be life-threatening.
Deputies said a neighbor, who was not immediately identified, was taken into custody after the incident. WHIO reported that charges against the neighbor were pending Thursday.
The victim’s family is part of the Mason City Schools district, according to WHIO. In a statement released Thursday, school district officials said a teacher called 911 on Thursday morning after a Mason High School student “reported to her teacher that her mother was stabbing someone.”
School district officials identified the victim as “the younger sibling of (a Mason Early Childhood Center) student.”
